Sunday, September 21, 2025 -The towers of Paris’s Notre Dame Cathedral have reopened to visitors, six years after a fire devastated the historic landmark. The move marks one of the final milestones in the cathedral’s long restoration effort.
French President Emmanuel Macron attended the reopening ceremony, and visitors can once again climb the 424 steps to the belfry for panoramic views of the city. Access is limited to small groups, and tickets cost about €16, while entry to the cathedral itself remains free.
The cathedral, badly damaged in 2019, fully reopened in December 2024 after years of intensive repairs. Officials say the return of the towers highlights both the progress of restoration and Notre Dame’s enduring place at the heart of Paris.
