Flight delays at Texas airports after equipment outage

Sunday, September 21, 2025 -A telecommunications equipment failure caused major disruptions at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field, forcing the FAA to issue a temporary ground stop. The outage affected radar and communication lines used by controllers.

The disruption led to hundreds of delays and dozens of cancellations. By mid-afternoon, Dallas-Fort Worth saw more than 500 delays and over 60 cancellations, while Love Field reported nearly 200 delays. Some flights faced wait times of several hours.

Operations gradually resumed after the outage was addressed, though officials warned passengers to expect continued delays throughout the day as schedules recover.
