European Airports disrupted by ransomware attack

Tuesday, September 23, 2025 -A ransomware attack on a third-party software provider caused major disruptions across several European airports, including Brussels, London Heathrow, and Berlin. The incident disabled automated check-in and baggage systems, forcing staff to switch to manual processing.

Brussels Airport was among the hardest hit, canceling about half of its scheduled departures to manage overwhelming queues. Heathrow and Berlin reported significant delays, while Dublin experienced only minor effects.

EU cybersecurity officials confirmed the attack targeted Collins Aerospace’s MUSE system. Law enforcement is investigating, as airports work to restore full operations and passengers are urged to check flight updates before traveling.
