Wednesday, February 16, 2022 – Three Ukambani region governors have urged former Vice President and Wiper Democratic Movement party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, to stop holding former Prime Minister Raila Odinga hostage over the August 9th presidential election.
According to sources, Kalonzo is demanding a bribe of Sh 3 billion from Raila Odinga for him to join the Azimio La Umoja Movement.
But speaking on Wednesday while drumming up support for Raila Odinga’s presidency in Ukambani, governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), and Alfred Mutua (Machakos), urged Kalonzo to swallow his pride and join the team because ‘it is the government in waiting’.
Mutua urged Kalonzo to stop gambling with the Kamba community and instead join Azimio without issuing conditions to Raila.
Ngilu on her part urged Kalonzo to join Azimio or perish with Deputy President William Ruto and the Tangatanga battalion in August.
Kibwana on his part insisted on unity in Azimio but said even if Kalonzo refuses to join the bandwagon, Baba will be the fifth President of Kenya in August.
