Friday, February 18, 2022 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has reportedly urged former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to stop campaigning in the Mt Kenya region because he is wasting his time.
According to sources, the Head of State urged Raila Odinga to forgo roadside campaigns in favor of closed-door meetings in halls.
Uhuru’s advice to Raila came after the National Intelligence Service (NIS) said Raila Odinga’s roadside campaigns are not bearing any fruit in Mt Kenya region and Deputy President William Ruto is still the commander of the vote-rich region.
Ruto is also backed by a huge number of Mt Kenya lawmakers and this has made President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila go back to the drawing board and come up with a plan of beating him in his own game.
Uhuru is supporting Raila Odinga and has reportedly vowed to use all resources at his disposal to ensure Jakom beats Ruto and sends him in opposition in August.
