Thursday, February 17, 2022 – Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, has hinted at the presidential candidate he will support between former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto in the August poll.
The August 9th Presidential duel is turning out to be a two-horse race between Raila Odinga and Ruto.
Speaking on Wednesday, Kuria, who is in Dubai after undergoing a specialised leg surgery, insisted he wasn’t mandated to support anyone in the highly anticipated polls.
The second-term MP said he needed to analyse the two biggest coalitions, Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Raila’s Azimio la Umoja, first, as they were formed when he was still hospitalised in Dubai.
“Personally, Kenya Kwanza was formed while I was in a hospital bed and so was Azimio, I will be crazy to say that I support things that were formed while I was ill.
“I just get anecdotes of what they stand for, I don’t understand them and I need time,” Kuria said.
The lawmaker insisted he won’t jump into any political vehicle ‘sheepishly.’
“By the time I was leaving Kenya I was in the Hustler movement but how it changed to Kenya Kwanza, I have not received a memo.
“The last time I was around, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula were in OKA, so am I supposed to sheepishly jump in without understanding what happened?” he posed.
