Wednesday, February 16, 2022 – Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has opened up on the alleged allegations that he demanded Sh3 billion bribe from President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga to join Azimio La Umoja Movement that is seeking to decimate Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.
Through Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo, Kalonzo denied ever demanding any monetary benefit to support Raila Odinga.
Maanzo termed the allegations by Governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Prof. Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) as false and misleading and aimed at tainting Kalonzo’s otherwise good name.
According to Maanzo, Kalonzo and the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals had not made any demands to former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, over a potential coalition pact ahead of the August 9 polls.
“The character and conduct of Hon. Kalonzo speaks for itself and is above reproach.
“He is a man who has no single tangible scandal to his name after being in leadership for almost four decades.”
“Many Kenyans acknowledge Kalonzo as the golden standard of leadership in Kenya, being a God-fearing and family man with impeccable values that he aspires to inculcate into the Kenyan system once he assumes the leadership of this country in the August 2022 General Election,” Maanzo stated.
