Wednesday, February 16, 2022 – Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Charles Keter, has shocked Deputy President William Ruto after he differed with UDA politicians over their remarks on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet meetings.
Speaking during an interview yesterday, Keter jealously defended Uhuru against allegations that he had not convened a Cabinet meeting during the final years of the Jubilee administration.
He noted that there had been Cabinet meetings until the last moments when he resigned from his position to join the Kericho gubernatorial race, contrary to the lies that Ruto and his allies have been peddling.
The former CS was responding to a question by the show host, who asked him to confirm whether the allegations were true.
Additionally, he stated that there was no friction in the Cabinet despite the differences between the President and his deputy.
“We have had Cabinet meetings until when I left on Tuesday and they have been going on,” he stated when asked to confirm whether or not Ruto and his allies have been right about Uhuru and the Cabinet meetings
Previously, while on the campaign trail, allies of the DP led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, claimed that the Head of State had not held Cabinet meetings during his second term.
This was echoed by Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi during a rally in Baringo County, where he alleged that Uhuru had not held any Cabinet meeting in the last year.
Additionally, Keter stated that he will always respect the President while joining Kenya Kwanza alliance rallies.
He stated that Uhuru was a personal friend and his boss and, therefore, he would not engage in campaigns that attack the Head of State.
