RITA WILSON predicts the plot of the Girls revival, as she confirms she’s putting her trust in LENA DUNHAM

Friday, November 6, 2026 - Rita Wilson has offered an exciting glimpse into what fans might expect from HBO's highly anticipated Girls revival, revealing that she has complete confidence in creator Lena Dunham's vision for the upcoming series. The actress, who played Evie Michaels, the eccentric mother of Marnie Michaels, said she was excited to discover how the beloved characters would develop years after the original show ended.

Speaking to Tyla on November 7, Wilson praised Dunham's creativity, saying she trusted her implicitly and believed whatever the writer came up with would exceed expectations. She also expressed enthusiasm about potentially returning to her fan-favourite role.

The five-episode revival is expected to explore the lives of Hannah, Marnie, Jessa and Shoshanna as they navigate the challenges of turning 40. Wilson offered her own predictions, suggesting the storyline could examine motherhood, changing relationships, careers, family responsibilities and the growing influence of social media.

She also raised questions about Hannah's life as a mother, including her relationship with her child and the child's father. The original stars, including Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Andrew Rannells, are expected to return, with production scheduled to begin in 2027.

Wilson's comments have added to the excitement surrounding the revival, particularly among viewers who have followed the characters since the original series premiered.

With the story moving beyond the complicated experiences of their twenties and into the realities of middle age, the new episodes have an opportunity to explore how friendships, ambitions and personal priorities change over time.

Although HBO has yet to reveal the full storyline or premiere date, Wilson's confidence in Dunham has given fans another reason to look forward to the show's return. The big question now is what surprises await the women when they reunite.
