Sunday, October 11, 2026 -Hannah Waddingham has spoken out about the cancellation of her action-comedy series Ride or Die, insisting she is proud of her performance despite Prime Video ending the show after just one season.
The Ted Lasso star admitted the decision was disappointing, but told Entertainment Tonight that she was happy with the work she had delivered. Her comments come after the series, which also stars Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer, attracted positive reviews and a strong response from viewers. The cancellation has left fans questioning why a well-received show will not return for a second season.
Waddingham revealed that performing the demanding action scenes required significant physical effort, explaining that she carried out approximately 85 to 90 per cent of her own stunts. Despite the exhaustion, she said she remained pleased with the finished project.
The actress also shared a lighter moment when discussing a gold dress she designed for the show, which she later wore to a public event. Although she expressed sadness over the cancellation on social media, she admitted she did not know whether another streaming platform would rescue the series.
The cancellation has sparked renewed calls from fans for another broadcaster or streaming service to give Ride or Die a second chance. The series follows two longtime friends whose relationship is thrown into chaos when one discovers that the other secretly works as an international assassin.
Paramount Television Studios is reportedly exploring options to find the show a new home, although no deal has been confirmed. For Waddingham, the immediate message is clear: despite the show's uncertain future, she stands by her performance and the effort invested in bringing the story to life.
