Wednesday, October 7, 2026 - Mark Mortimer, best known for playing Nick Hudson on the NBC soap opera Another World, has died at the age of 59 following a two-year battle with cancer.
Mortimer died peacefully on September 23, 2026, with his family confirming the news and remembering him for the many roles he embraced throughout his life. Beyond acting, he was an Army veteran, model, entrepreneur and builder, but his family said being a husband and father was what mattered most to him.
Mortimer joined Another World in 1996 and remained with the soap until its final episode in 1999. He became the third actor to portray Nick Hudson, a character connected to the show's central family storylines.
After the series ended, Mortimer continued working in television and film, with later credits including Spin City and The Nowhere Man. Away from acting, he built a successful business with his wife, Christie, and remained focused on his family.
After being diagnosed with cancer in 2024, Mortimer and Christie created the Integrative Access Foundation to help cancer patients gain access to additional treatment options and support.
His family described him as a man of curiosity, determination and faith who continued to focus on helping others during his illness. Mortimer is survived by his wife Christie, their daughter Hunter and other family members, who are now mourning a man they say was defined above all by his love and devotion to those closest to him.
