Saturday, September 25, 2026 - A 59-year-old Swedish man has been formally suspected of murdering or assisting in the murder of Anne-Elisabeth Hagen, Norwegian police confirmed on Friday.
The development makes him the second man currently suspected in the long-running investigation into Hagen’s disappearance. Police have questioned the Swedish suspect twice as investigators continue efforts to establish what happened to her.
Hagen disappeared from her home in Lørenskog, Norway, in October 2018 and has never been found. Police believe she was killed before her body was moved from the property.
Her husband, businessman Tom Hagen, was previously charged in connection with the case, but the case against him was dropped in 2024.
Norwegian investigators say they have pursued a broad investigation since the case against Tom Hagen was dropped and will continue examining new leads.
The Swedish suspect denies involvement, with his lawyer saying he has maintained his innocence and cooperated with investigators. Police have not released further details about the evidence behind the latest suspicion as the investigation continues.
