Monday, September 28, 2026 - Reba McEntire has opened up about a phone call from longtime friend Dolly Parton that she missed just weeks before Parton's death. McEntire, 71, said Parton called her toward the end of July while she was in a meeting and could not answer.
She later tried to return the call but was unable to reach her. When McEntire was told that Parton had died on August 25 at age 80, one of her first thoughts was about the unanswered call and why her friend had tried to contact her.
