Wednesday, September 16, 2026 - Prince Harry celebrated his 42nd birthday back in the UK with a low-key day that included work in the morning and a late lunch with friends.
The Duke of Sussex, who returned to Britain with Meghan Markle and their children in late August, is reportedly delighted to be spending his birthday closer to friends and family after several years living in California. The birthday comes as the Sussexes settle into their new routine in the UK.
A source told HELLO! that Harry “spent it working this morning and then having a late lunch with friends.” Royal Editor Emily Nash said the Duke “will be delighted to be spending his birthday back in the UK,” adding that he has wanted to be back for some time and is now making the most of being closer to those he knows.
Harry also has a busy schedule ahead, with appearances planned at the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards, the launch of the INSPIRE education programme and the WellChild Awards.
The return to Britain has also brought a renewed focus on Harry's charitable work and family life. The Sussexes have been concentrating on settling Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet into school, while Harry prepares for several engagements connected to causes he supports.
Meghan marked his birthday publicly with a personal tribute and previously shared glimpses of their new life in Britain, highlighting the family's adjustment as Harry begins another chapter closer to home.
