Friday, September 24, 2026 - A 69-year-old New York father made a desperate 911 call during an attack in his Mastic, Long Island, apartment on September 7, according to prosecutors.
Edward Brown was heard telling the dispatcher, “I’m being murdered. What are you doing to me, Sage?” Authorities allege his 33-year-old son, Sage Arias-Brown, was responsible for the attack.
Police said a neighbor heard a loud bang followed by screams and later saw Arias-Brown leaving the apartment. Officers found Brown unresponsive and covered in blood, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy determined that he had suffered about 40 stab wounds to his torso, chest and neck, according to prosecutors.
Arias-Brown was arrested roughly half a mile from the apartment and has since been indicted on a second-degree murder charge.
He remains in custody without bail and is due back in court on October 21. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the case remains ongoing.
