Friday, September 24, 2026 - Dolly Parton’s sister Freida Parton has publicly rejected speculation of a family feud following a legal dispute involving the late singer’s nephew, Bryan Seaver.
In a statement shared on September 23, Freida said there was “no feud” within the Parton/Owens family and insisted that family members were not fighting over Dolly Parton’s estate. She also expressed support for Seaver, saying the family loves him and each other.
The statement comes after Seaver was fired from his position as Parton’s longtime head of security and the company overseeing her business interests, She’s Alive, obtained a temporary restraining order against him.
Court filings allege that Seaver made threatening statements toward people connected to the estate and its business partners. A Tennessee judge granted the temporary order on September 23, with a hearing scheduled for October 7.
Seaver has denied threatening anyone and described the restraining order as a “publicity stunt,” arguing that some of his messages were taken out of context. The dispute remains a legal matter, while Freida’s comments make clear that she does not view it as evidence of a wider family split.
With the estate battle now under legal scrutiny, attention is likely to remain focused on the upcoming court proceedings and the competing accounts surrounding Seaver’s departure.
