Monday, September 21, 2026 - Comedian Carrot Top was reportedly the subject of an alleged extortion attempt involving a sexually explicit recording, according to court documents.
His attorney, Ronnie Bitman, claimed in a September 3 filing that musician Brian Evans threatened to place an explicit video involving the comedian into the public court record unless Carrot Top paid $500,000.
The allegations have emerged as the comedian remains hospitalized and recovering following a reported suicide attempt in the Las Vegas area.
Evans has denied threatening to release the video and said the recording had already been deleted under the terms of an earlier settlement. He described the communication with Carrot Top’s lawyer as part of a legal dispute rather than an attempt to extort the comedian.
The disagreement stems from a wider lawsuit filed by Evans, who has made allegations concerning an explicit video and a previous settlement agreement with Carrot Top.
Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, remains under medical care, with his representative confirming that he is recovering and receiving support.
His family has asked for privacy while he continues to recover, and his scheduled Las Vegas performances have been canceled. The legal allegations remain disputed, and the claims made by both sides have not been established as facts in court.
