Tuesday, September 22, 2026 - Calvin Harris has officially secured a Guinness World Record after drawing an estimated 1.6 million people to his DJ set in São Paulo, Brazil.
The performance took place on February 8, 2026, during the city’s pre-Carnival celebrations, with Harris performing from a carnival float along Rua da Consolação. Guinness World Records has now confirmed the crowd as the largest attendance ever recorded for a DJ set by a single artist.
The massive street performance saw Harris play several of his biggest hits, including “We Found Love,” “This Is What You Came For,” “One Kiss” and “I Need Your Love.” Wearing a Brazilian football shirt marked “Calvinho,” the Scottish DJ joined the Carnival atmosphere as huge crowds filled the central São Paulo route.
The scale of the gathering also caused serious overcrowding, with reports of some attendees becoming unwell as authorities managed the enormous crowd.
Harris has since celebrated the achievement publicly, describing the experience as an “insane day” and thanking Brazil for the record-breaking moment. The Guinness recognition comes as the DJ continues a busy 2026 schedule, including major festivals and live appearances.
His São Paulo performance now stands as a major milestone in a year that has already seen him return to Brazil's biggest stages and connect with one of the largest live audiences ever assembled for a solo DJ set.
