Russia fired 61 missiles at Ukraine in a week, 56 on ballistic trajectories — ZELENSKYY

Monday, August 10, 2026 - Russia launched 61 missiles against Ukraine over the past week, including 56 that followed ballistic trajectories, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He added that Russian forces also used more than 1,560 attack drones and 1,540 aerial bombs, underscoring the intensity of the latest wave of strikes as attacks continue across multiple Ukrainian regions.

Zelenskyy said the attacks targeted areas including Odesa and Kharkiv, causing deaths, injuries and damage to civilian and port infrastructure.

The heavy use of ballistic missiles is particularly significant because these weapons are difficult to intercept, placing additional pressure on Ukraine’s air-defense systems and increasing the threat to cities and critical facilities.

The latest figures point to a sustained and increasingly intense aerial campaign as Ukraine continues to seek stronger air-defense capabilities from its international partners.

With ballistic missiles forming the overwhelming majority of the missiles reported by Zelenskyy, Kyiv faces an urgent need to strengthen its ability to protect civilians and critical infrastructure from further strikes.
