Thursday, August 27, 2026 -Megyn Kelly has publicly criticized Kim Kardashian and Kanye West over how they are raising their 13-year-old daughter, North West, arguing that the teenager is being pushed into the spotlight too quickly.
During a recent episode of The Megyn Kelly Show with Dr. Drew, Kelly questioned the decision to make North such a prominent public figure at a young age, pointing to her recent appearance on the cover of Dazed magazine featuring blue hair, grills and a mix of real and temporary facial piercings.
Kelly also highlighted North's growing entertainment career, including her music and public performances, saying she believes Kim and Kanye are “rushing” their daughter toward stardom without fully considering the potential consequences of growing up under constant public scrutiny.
Dr. Drew echoed some of Kelly's concerns, although several of his claims about the family's private circumstances were not supported by evidence. Neither Kardashian nor West had publicly responded to the latest criticism at the time of reporting.
The controversy comes as North continues to build an unusually public identity while still navigating adolescence. Despite the criticism, North has indicated that her parents do set boundaries: she recently said she wants a bridge piercing but is not allowed to get one.
She has also spoken positively about expressing herself through fashion and music, while recently revealing a surprisingly ordinary ambition—to work at Starbucks when she turns 14.
