Manda Levin, Netflix’s director of scripted series for the UK, was asked about reports linking the Duchess of Sussex to season three of Guy Ritchie’s crime drama at the Edinburgh TV Festival. Her answer was brief: “All bets are off.”
The comment comes after conflicting reports about Markle’s potential role. Earlier this month, reports said she was being considered for the Netflix series, but former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown later claimed the proposed casting had been withdrawn following intense backlash in the UK.
Netflix has not officially confirmed Markle as part of the season-three cast, meaning the latest response leaves the door open without establishing that a deal exists.
The speculation is gaining even more attention because Netflix has officially renewed The Gentlemen for a third season, while Markle has recently shown signs of returning to acting after stepping away from scripted roles.
