Tuesday, August 11, 2026 - Dane Bowers has revealed he is preparing to undergo a “very serious” back operation after months of persistent pain began seriously affecting his daily life.
The 46-year-old former Another Level singer shared the health update on TikTok, telling followers that a second medical opinion had changed his treatment plan. Doctors have now recommended spinal fusion surgery, which involves joining affected vertebrae together using surgical hardware.
Bowers said the condition has caused a constant ache in his left leg and foot and has become so uncomfortable that he is struggling to sleep. He explained that he will undergo a CT scan to determine whether additional bone needs to be removed before surgeons proceed with the fusion.
The singer has also cancelled the operation previously arranged with another doctor after deciding to follow the new treatment plan.
Despite facing a major recovery period, Bowers said he believes the operation will ultimately improve his quality of life. He admitted he was disappointed about temporarily giving up activities including padel and golf, but remains hopeful that surgery will finally ease the pain that has disrupted his sleep and routine.
He also urged others not to hesitate about seeking a second medical opinion when facing an important health decision, saying his own experience showed how significantly a different assessment could change his treatment.
