Sunday, August 9, 2026 - “Highlander” star Christopher Lambert was rushed to hospital after suddenly collapsing while signing autographs at Steel City Con in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The 69-year-old actor, best known for playing Connor MacLeod in the 1986 cult classic, was taken away by ambulance, forcing organizers to cancel his scheduled photo opportunities.
The scare initially sparked concern among fans, but Lambert’s representatives later said he was “perfectly OK” and recovering in his hotel room.
His representative attributed the collapse to low blood sugar after Lambert had little sleep and had not eaten enough during the day. Convention organizers subsequently said he was feeling much better and planned to return Sunday.
The reassuring update has eased fears surrounding the veteran actor, who remains active on the fan-convention circuit. Lambert is also scheduled to appear at FAN EXPO Chicago later this month, making his quick recovery particularly significant for fans who had been worried after seeing the sudden medical emergency unfold.
For now, the latest reports point to a temporary health scare rather than a lasting medical crisis.
