The 63-year-old Poison frontman had hoped to return to the road after his recent medical emergency and performed a comeback show in Sugar Hill, Georgia, on August 21. However, doctors determined afterward that he still needs significant rest and recovery.
Michaels underwent emergency surgery in July after suffering severe pain from an obstructing kidney stone that would not pass. His medical team has now advised him to stay off the road for the next several months, warning that touring, heat and humidity could make his recovery more difficult.
The decision means he will miss the remainder of his scheduled performances, including festival appearances and private events.
