Kazakhstan looks to boost oil exports via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline after Georgia talks in Astana

Wednesday, June 1, 2026- Kazakhstan is moving to expand its oil exports through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline following high-level talks with Georgian officials in Astana.

The discussions focused on strengthening energy cooperation, improving transit capacity, and creating more reliable export routes as Kazakhstan seeks to diversify access to international markets.

Officials from both countries emphasized closer collaboration on transport infrastructure and logistics to support increased crude oil shipments through the BTC corridor.

Expanding the use of the pipeline is expected to enhance regional energy connectivity, reduce dependence on traditional export routes, and improve the efficiency of cross-border trade.

The renewed partnership signals Kazakhstan's commitment to securing stable and competitive energy export channels amid evolving global market conditions.

If the planned cooperation advances, it could boost regional trade, strengthen economic ties with transit partners, and reinforce the strategic importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline in global energy supply.
