Tuesday, July 14, 2026 - A driver was sh0t and k!lled after allegedly attempting to run down Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Maine on Monday, July 13, authorities said.
Officials said the incident occurred when the suspect
reportedly drove toward the officers, prompting law enforcement to open fire.
Graphic footage on social media shows a man lying by the
side of the road near a car, with a bullet hole visible through the driver’s
side of the front windshield following the incident in Biddeford just after
7:15 a.m., the Portland Press Herald reported.
The unidentified driver reportedly accelerated at ICE agents
at an intersection in the small town before the officers shot him dead,
eyewitnesses said.
Officers in green vests surrounded a car and drew their
weapons at the driver, who appeared to drive directly at the agents, witness
Lucas Scott, 18, said.
“The car was put into drive and was trying to hit the ICE
officer,” Scott said, adding that the agent fired roughly four sh00ts in
response.
“I just heard the popping, but I did see him draw his gun,”
Scott said.
Another witness described seeing the driver get out of the
car, bleeding profusely from his head.
“He said, ‘I tried to stop,'” nearby resident Daniel Boucher
said.
“They chased down a bunch of guys working on a roof down the
street a week or two ago. They all ran. I saw one guy jump off the roof to get
away. They left all their equipment on top of the roof,” Biddeford resident
Larry Humiston told the Portland Press Herald.
