YouTuber guilty of killing pregnant girlfriend appeals life sentence as he tops inmate “hitlist”

Tuesday, June 30, 2026- A YouTuber convicted of murdering his pregnant girlfriend is now appealing his life sentence, according to reports emerging from prison where he is said to be facing serious safety concerns.

The case centers on Stephen McCullagh, who was found guilty after using a pre-recorded gaming livestream as a false alibi during the killing of his partner, Natalie McNally. He was later sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 31 years following a high-profile trial that exposed extensive digital deception and planning.

New claims suggest McCullagh is now living under heightened protection inside custody after being placed on what inmates reportedly refer to as a “hitlist,” a term used to describe prisoners at risk of targeted violence.

While official prison authorities do not typically confirm internal security threats, the environment has reportedly become increasingly tense due to the notoriety of his case. At the same time, his legal team has lodged an appeal against the severity of his sentence, seeking a review of the minimum term imposed by the court.

The situation highlights how high-profile convictions can continue to generate consequences long after sentencing, particularly in cases involving violent domestic crime and online deception.

With the appeal process now underway, attention is shifting between courtroom arguments and prison safety concerns, keeping the case in public focus as both legal and security questions remain unresolved.
