Tribute concert for SYD BARRETT’s 80th birthday to be held

Friday, June 19, 2026- A special tribute concert honoring the 80th birthday of legendary Pink Floyd co-founder Syd Barrett is set to take place in Cambridge, bringing together musicians and fans to celebrate his enduring influence on rock music.

The event, scheduled for October 10 at the Cambridge Corn Exchange, will feature performances from a range of artists, with proceeds supporting mental health charities. Organizers say the concert aims to recognize Barrett’s creative legacy while raising awareness for an important cause.

The celebration will extend beyond a single performance. A tribute album titled Clowns And Jugglers: The Songs of Syd Barrett is also planned for release, featuring contributions from artists connected to Barrett’s music and influence.

In addition, a week-long exhibition showcasing artwork, memorabilia, and discussions about his creative impact will be held in Cambridge, attracting fans from across the world.

Interest in the event highlights the lasting relevance of Barrett’s work decades after his music first reached audiences. Organizers expect strong attendance as music lovers gather to celebrate one of Britain’s most influential songwriters and performers.

With live performances, a tribute album, and charitable fundraising efforts, the 80th birthday celebrations are shaping up to be one of the most significant tributes to Barrett’s legacy in recent years.
