No nuclear talks without implementation of interim deal, Iran's ARAGHCHI says

Saturday, June 13, 2026- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has drawn a firm line in ongoing negotiations with the United States, stating that Tehran will not proceed with nuclear talks unless a proposed interim deal is fully implemented first. 

His remarks signal a tightening negotiating position at a moment when diplomatic momentum between both sides appears fragile but active.

Araghchi emphasized that the interim framework under discussion is not merely symbolic but must be executed before any formal nuclear negotiations can begin. The proposed arrangement reportedly includes sensitive regional and security components, including maritime stability in the Strait of Hormuz and broader conflict de-escalation measures. 

Iran’s position reflects a strategy of sequencing prioritizing enforcement of the interim agreement before entering deeper nuclear commitments, particularly on enrichment and long-term compliance mechanisms.
