Tuesday, May 12, 2026- Iran has signaled it will continue its stance of resistance following renewed tensions with the United States, after President Donald Trump declared the fragile ceasefire agreement is “on life support.” 

The comments come amid rising diplomatic breakdowns and sharply diverging demands between both sides, with no clear path to stabilization in sight.

Iranian officials have responded defiantly, warning that their armed forces are prepared to react strongly to any perceived aggression and insisting they will not accept pressure-based terms. 

Statements from Tehran emphasize continued readiness for confrontation if negotiations collapse, reinforcing the sense that the ceasefire is increasingly unstable.

On the U.S. side, Trump has described Iran’s latest response to peace proposals as unacceptable, arguing that the ceasefire framework is barely holding and may collapse without major concessions. 

Reports indicate Washington is weighing its next steps as tensions around key strategic zones like the Strait of Hormuz continue to raise global economic and security concerns.
