Four Indian tourists 'mysteriously' faint at Thailand cafe, one dies hours later

Tuesday, May 12, 2026-A sudden and unexplained medical emergency involving a group of Indian tourists in Phuket, Thailand, has left one person dead and three others hospitalized after all four reportedly lost consciousness inside a café.

Authorities say the group of five men had been at the venue late in the night when four of them began collapsing one after another without any immediate warning signs, triggering an urgent emergency response.

Emergency teams rushed the unconscious tourists to nearby hospitals in Patong and Thalang, where two were initially reported to be in a coma before being transferred for advanced treatment.

Despite medical efforts, one of the tourists later died, while the remaining three are said to be in stable condition under observation. Officials have confirmed that another member of the group did not show any symptoms and has been assisting investigators with preliminary information.

Thai authorities, alongside the Indian Embassy, are now working to determine what caused the sudden collapse, with forensic teams conducting autopsies and toxicology tests.

Early reports indicate that investigators are considering multiple possibilities, including environmental exposure or ingestion-related causes, but no official conclusion has been reached.

As scrutiny intensifies, the case has raised concern among travelers, with officials emphasizing that a full investigation is underway to establish exactly what happened inside the café that night.
