Thursday, April 16, 2026-Russian drone strike on an apartment building in Ukraine’s Odesa region has killed one person and injured six, according to local officials.
The drone hit a residential high-rise, damaging multiple apartments on upper floors and sparking a fire that was later extinguished by emergency crews.
Rescue teams evacuated residents from the building as firefighters brought the blaze under control, while medical personnel treated the injured on site and transported some to hospital for further care.
Authorities say the attack is part of a continued wave of Russian drone strikes targeting civilian infrastructure across southern Ukraine, particularly the Odesa region, which has faced repeated bombardments due to its strategic Black Sea position.
Emergency services remain on alert as damage assessments continue and investigations into the strike are underway.
