Democrats sue TRUMP administration over mail-in-voting order

Thursday, April 2, 2026-Democrats have filed a lawsuit against the administration of Donald Trump, challenging a new order that restricts mail-in voting across several states.

The legal action argues that the directive could disenfranchise millions of voters by limiting access to absentee ballots ahead of upcoming elections.

The lawsuit claims the order oversteps federal authority and interferes with states’ rights to manage their own election systems.

Democratic leaders and voting rights groups warn that the changes could disproportionately affect elderly voters, military personnel, and those unable to vote in person.

Supporters of the administration argue the order is necessary to prevent voter fraud and ensure election integrity. However, the case is expected to escalate quickly through the courts, setting up a major legal battle that could shape voting access and election rules nationwide.
