LUKASHENKO and KIM JONG UN sign friendship deal in Pyongyang

Thursday, March 26, 2026- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have signed a new friendship and cooperation agreement in Pyongyang, signaling a deepening alliance between the two nations.

The deal covers economic, political, and cultural cooperation, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of resisting Western influence. Officials described the signing as a historic step in strengthening bilateral ties amid heightened global tensions.

The agreement comes as both countries face international scrutiny and sanctions, with Lukashenko’s Belarus under pressure for its role in regional conflicts and North Korea continuing weapons testing in defiance of UN resolutions.

Analysts note that the pact could lead to increased military and economic collaboration, raising concerns among Western governments about further destabilization in Europe and East Asia.

State media reported that the two leaders held talks on trade, technology exchange, and joint development projects. Observers say the move underscores the strategic alignment of nations isolated from mainstream global markets, potentially creating new channels for cooperation outside established international frameworks.

The partnership highlights the willingness of sanctioned states to forge alliances that challenge Western-led diplomatic norms.
