King CHARLES confirms first US state visit

Tuesday, March 31, 2026-King Charles III has confirmed he will undertake his first official state visit to the United States as monarch, Buckingham Palace announced. The visit, scheduled for April, will be carried out alongside Queen Camilla and comes at the invitation of President Donald Trump.

The trip is expected to highlight the historic and modern relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, with events likely to include a state banquet and high-level meetings. It will also coincide with celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, adding symbolic significance to the visit.

Officials say the visit comes at a delicate time for transatlantic relations, as political tensions and disagreements over global issues continue. Despite this, the royal visit is being positioned as a key diplomatic effort to reinforce ties between the two nations, using the monarchy’s soft power to maintain cooperation and stability.
