DAN CRENSHAW blames primary loss on clickbait misinformation

Tuesday, March 10, 2026-Dan Crenshaw says misleading online content played a major role in his defeat in the Republican primary race in Texas. The former congressman argued that viral social media posts, sensational headlines, and what he described as “clickbait misinformation” distorted his record and influenced voters during the campaign.

Crenshaw said false or exaggerated claims about his positions circulated widely across digital platforms in the final weeks of the race. According to him, some of the content spread rapidly through political influencers and partisan media channels, creating a narrative he says did not accurately reflect his policies or actions in Congress.

Despite the loss, Crenshaw indicated he plans to remain active in public debate and conservative politics. He also warned that misinformation online is becoming an increasingly powerful force in modern campaigns, shaping voter perceptions and potentially affecting election outcomes across the United States.
