Monday, February 16 2026 - A man has been k!lled by a high-speed train in Bangladesh after standing on the tracks to take a selfie just moments before the fatal collision.
Tuk-tuk driver, Mohi Uddin, 32, was visiting Bagmara market
in the city of Comilla, eastern Bangladesh, on Sunday morning when he stepped
onto the Dhaka-Chittagong railway line.
Witnesses told JagoNews24 they saw Mr. Uddin standing on the
tracks to take a selfie, which he is understood to have then posted on
Facebook.
The Daily Inqilab reports that others saw him talking on the
phone at the time he was k!lled, which police have confirmed.
A Laksham police spokesperson said: 'The deceased Mohiuddin
was k!lled when he was hit by a moving train while sitting on the railway line
and talking on his mobile phone.
'He has been taken to his village home. If the family
complains, we will take action.'
The 32-year-old was struck by the high-speed train, bound
for Dhaka, at around 7.45am. He was killed instantly.
Police said he could have been hit by an Upakul Express
train which departed Noakhali and passed through Laksham railway station at
around 7.30am.
