South African police officer kills female colleague before turning gun on himself inside police station

Monday, December 8, 2025 - A police officer k!lled his female colleague and then committed su!cide in Limpopo, South Africa.

The two officers were found dead inside the South African Police Service (SAPS) station at Nkowankowa Police Station outside Tzaneen in the early hours of Monday morning, December 8, 2025. 

According to police, a male officer allegedly shot his female colleague after an argument, then turned the gun on himself.  Both d!ed at the scene.

Initial reports suggest a possible domestic‑related cause, though investigators have opened a full inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The tragedy has prompted shock and concern within the province, with police pledging to investigate thoroughly and determine motive.

The identities of the officers have not been officially released yet. 

SAPS spokespersons say more details will be provided as the investigation proceeds.
