Friday, December 5, 2025 - Kimora Lee Simmons has revealed she’s playing the role of a “surrogate mom” to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 18-year-old twin daughters.
The 50-year-old TV personality, who recently made her return
to reality TV, spoke about motherhood during an appearance on Today
With Jenna & Friends on Wednesday.
Diddy shares D’Lila and Jessie with the late Kim Porter, who
tragically passed away at 47 in 2018 from lobar pneumonia. During their
on-and-off relationship from 1994-2007, the pair also welcomed son Christian,
now 26.
Simmons, already a mother of five, explained her role caring
for children beyond her own.
"I have my kids, and then I have kids on the
side," she said. "I have a stepdaughter, well, an
additional daughter. I have another son, bonus son, who's on the show, Jaden,
another one who's just been with us for many, many years."
She continued, "One of my friends who passed away,
Kim Porter, I have all of her kids. Even though some of them are adults, some
are 18, twins."
When asked if the twins “come to” her, Simmons
replied, "Yeah, they're with me. I just got off the phone with them.
I'm a lot of people's mom."
Guest host Scarlett Johansson was impressed and asked, "Are
you doing this solo? Like, how do you do it all?"
Simmons explained, "I have a lot of help. It takes
a village, so I have godmoms and aunties and friends… it's really a village of
women. And I'm supported by women and my message — not only women — but it's
really towards women and I'm uplifting them and they're uplifting me. And it
definitely takes a village and we're kind of like... a girl village."
The star is also mother to Ming, 25, and Aoki, 21, with
ex-husband Russell Simmons. She also welcomed Kenzo, 16, with Djimon Hounsou,
Wolfe, 10, with ex-husband Tim Leissner, and adopted Gary, now 16.
Simmons has long been vocal about supporting Diddy’s
daughters. Meanwhile, the music mogul is currently serving time in prison
following charges related to transportation to engage in prostitution.
