TRUMP: G20 at his Miami golf resort will be an invite‑only event

Friday, November 28, 2025 -When U.S. President Donald J. Trump hosts the next Group of Twenty (G20) summit at his private golf resort in Miami, he will personally decide who gets invited. 

He has already signaled that South Africa — currently holding the G20 presidency — will not be invited, breaking from long‑held diplomatic protocol.

Hosting the summit at his own property — Trump National Doral Miami — and selecting the guest list himself departs sharply from precedent. The decision has raised serious questions over fairness, global credibility, and the future functioning of the forum.

European and international leaders have expressed concern that such a selective, invite-only approach undermines the spirit of multilateral cooperation that the G20 is meant to represent, putting the unity and legitimacy of the group at risk.
