More than 850 flights canceled in US early Wednesday, tracker says

Thursday, November 13, 2025 -Travel chaos hit U.S. airports early Wednesday, with more than 850 flights canceled and over 400 delayed as of 5 a.m. ET. Chicago O’Hare, Denver, and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson led the cancellations, highlighting ongoing disruptions for travelers nationwide.

Passengers faced last-minute changes, packed terminals, and long waits as airlines struggled to manage the backlog.

The situation is linked to staffing shortages at key federal agencies, including the Transportation Security Administration, with employees operating without pay during a government impasse.

The Federal Aviation Administration is also limiting capacity at 40 major airports, putting additional strain on operations and raising concerns over potential further delays throughout the day.

Travelers are urged to check flight statuses before heading to the airport, plan for extended wait times, and stay updated on airline communications.

With disruptions expected to continue, flexibility and preparation remain crucial for anyone navigating U.S. air travel this week.
