Missouri judge who wore ELVIS PRESLEY wig and played singer’s music in court forced to step own

Tuesday, November 25, 2025 -A Missouri judge has been forced to resign after repeatedly appearing in court wearing an Elvis Presley wig and playing the singer’s music during proceedings—behavior that state officials determined violated judicial conduct standards.

Complaints from attorneys, defendants, and court staff triggered a formal review, which found that the judge’s actions undermined the seriousness of the courtroom and compromised public confidence in the judicial system.

According to investigators, the judge ignored earlier warnings to maintain professional decorum and continued incorporating Elvis-themed antics into hearings. 

Witnesses reported disruption, confusion, and what some described as a “circus-like atmosphere” during routine legal matters. The oversight commission concluded that the behavior amounted to misconduct and created the perception that cases were not being handled impartially.

Following the ruling, the judge agreed to step down rather than face harsher disciplinary measures. Legal advocates say the incident highlights the importance of preserving the integrity of courtrooms, where even the appearance of bias or frivolity can erode trust. 

State officials emphasized that judicial roles demand consistency, neutrality, and professionalism—standards they say were clearly breached in this case.
