Islamabad suicide bombing: witnesses recall chaos

Thursday, November 13, 2025 -A suicide bomber struck outside the District Judicial Complex in Islamabad at around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, killing at least 12 people and wounding over 30.

The explosive device was detonated near a police vehicle after the attacker failed to enter the court premises—an act officials say highlights a stark escalation in militant activity.

Survivors described scenes of complete pandemonium: lawyers and visitors sprinting for cover, windows shattering in courtrooms, cars ablaze, and at least two bodies lying near the entrance gate.

Coolheadedness gave way to confusion when the main gate slammed shut, forcing many inside to wait nearly half an hour before evacuation.

In response, Pakistan’s Defence Minister declared the country to be in a “state of war,” urging urgent action against militant networks.

With the attack hitting the heart of the capital and crowds present at the time, the strike marks a dangerous turning point for Pakistan’s security situation and raises intense pressure on authorities to prevent further threats.
