Friday, November 7, 2025 -An Iranian court has imposed a combined sentence of 34 years in prison and internal exile on three Sunni religious activists for terrorism-related charges.Hussein Sahagi and Saleh Sorkhi were each sentenced to 12 years in prison and two years of internal exile, while Jasem Loimi received a 10-year prison sentence and two years of internal exile.
Internal exile entails the relocation of convicts to a designated city or region within Iran.Branch 2 of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court convicted the three individuals on charges of “membership in terrorist and takfiri groups,” as announced by the organization. Takfiri pertains to Muslims who accuse other Muslims of apostasy.
The charges were substantiated by images obtained from social media, as reported by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.The three men have encountered pressure in recent years due to their religious activities.
