Death toll reaches 33 in some of the deadliest Israeli strikes in Gaza since the ceasefire’s start
Thursday, November 20, 2025-In a devastating escalation, Israeli airstrikes over roughly 12 hours have killed 33 people in Gaza, according to hospital officials. The strikes hit tents sheltering displaced families in Khan Younis and residential buildings in Gaza City, claiming the lives of women and children.
According to medical sources, four strikes on tents in Khan Younis resulted in 17 deaths, including five women and five children. In Gaza City, two more airstrikes on a residential building killed 16 people, among them seven children and three women.
Israel says the strikes were in response to gunfire directed at its soldiers in Khan Younis, though it reported no Israeli casualties. The militant group Hamas strongly condemned the attack as a “shocking massacre” and denied having fired on Israeli forces. Meanwhile, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that more than 300 Palestinians have died from such strikes since the ceasefire took effect.
