CYNDI LAUPER inducted by CHAPPELL ROAN, delivers iconic medley at 2025 Rock Hall ceremony


Monday, November 10, 2025 -Pop legend Cyndi Lauper was officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on November 8, 2025, in a ceremony that celebrated her enduring impact and highlighted her continued relevance in popular culture.

Chappell Roan took the stage to induct Lauper, delivering a heartfelt tribute to her originality, advocacy, and artistic vision. Roan spoke of Lauper’s fearless creativity and how songs like “True Colors” became more than hits — they became touchstones for empowerment and visibility.

Lauper’s acceptance speech struck a resonant chord. She credited the women who came before her, and asserted that she carries forward a legacy strong enough to bolster the next generation: “I stand on the shoulders of the women in the industry that came before me, and my shoulders are broad enough to have the women that come after me stand on mine.” She added that the little kid in her still believes rock ‘n’ roll can save the world.

To cap the evening, Lauper performed a powerful three‑song set: beginning with “True Colors”, moving to “Time After Time” (joined by RAYE), and closing emphatically with “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, accompanied by Avril Lavigne and Salt‑N‑Pepa.
