Friday, November 14, 2025 - Late actor Chadwick Boseman, known for his roles in Black Panther and 42, will posthumously receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, five years after his death from colon cancer at age 43.
The ceremony is set for Thursday, November 20, at 6904
Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles, where his widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will
accept the honor, Daily Mail reported.
Boseman will be celebrated by Black Panther director
Ryan Coogler and Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis, who starred with him
in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Ana Martinez, producer for the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said
in a statement:
“The
Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s
extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His powerful
performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire
generations around the world.”
Boseman passed away in August 2020 after a private four-year
battle with colon cancer. His family revealed that he had filmed several of his
final projects, including Marshall, Da 5 Bloods,
and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, while undergoing surgeries and
chemotherapy.
The actor, who brought King T’Challa to life in Black Panther, is survived by his wife and a parent.
