Tuesday, October 14, 2025 - Fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has revealed that she removed her breast implants in 2004 — a decision she says helped shape her career in the fashion industry.
Speaking in her Netflix documentary, Beckham reflected on
her transformation from pop star and footballer’s wife to respected designer,
admitting that she once felt pressure to look a certain way.
In the late ’90s and early 2000s, Victoria was one of the
most talked-about members of the “WAGs” circle — the wives and girlfriends of
top footballers — known for her glamorous looks, bold outfits, and signature
confidence.
But by 2004, she said she began to crave something
different. “I don’t know where those boobs went, but they went,” she said with
a laugh. “It was definitely working with Roland [Mouret] that did it. He’s so
great and I wouldn’t have a career if it wasn’t for him.”
The mother of four explained that her friend and designer
Roland Mouret encouraged her to tone down her image to be taken more seriously
in fashion. That advice, she said, changed everything.
“I wanted to move forward,” Victoria admitted. “I wanted
people to focus on my work, not my appearance.”
Her decision marked a turning point — one that shifted her
image from pop glamour to refined elegance, helping her establish *Victoria
Beckham* as one of the most recognized names in British fashion today.
The “Spice Girls” star further added, “It came from a need
to be taken more seriously and me not knowing who I was. And so I think it was
Roland that encouraged me to just be me — not feel I had to be that person. To
just tone it down. And I think the nice thing about it is, then, I could just
show myself through my collections.”
