Ukrainian children killed in Russian strikes, hours after TRUMP-PUTIN talks shelved

Thursday, October 23, 2025-A deadly wave of Russian missile and drone strikes tore through Ukraine overnight, killing at least six people, including two children, and injuring dozens more.

The attacks targeted Kyiv and surrounding regions, setting residential buildings ablaze and crippling parts of the country’s energy grid. Ukrainian officials said the timing was no coincidence coming just hours after the planned diplomatic talks between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin were abruptly shelved amid mounting tensions.

Footage from the aftermath showed rescue teams pulling survivors from debris as air raid sirens echoed across the capital. Kyiv’s mayor described the strikes as among the most intense in months, with debris raining down across neighborhoods.

The civilian toll has reignited anger across Ukraine, with many accusing Moscow of exploiting diplomatic uncertainty to escalate its campaign. Western leaders swiftly condemned the strikes, calling them “barbaric” and “deliberately aimed at terrorizing civilians.”

Analysts warn the attack could mark a dangerous new phase in the war, signaling Moscow’s defiance and frustration over stalled negotiations. The cancellation of the Trump-Putin meeting has left diplomatic channels frozen, heightening fears of further escalation in the weeks ahead.

As Ukraine mourns its latest victims, the world watches once more as peace remains just out of reach and the cost of war continues to fall hardest on the innocent.
