Tuesday, October 21, 2025-Ex-President Joe Biden has completed a course of radiation therapy for prostate cancer and marked the milestone by ringing the traditional “end-of-treatment” bell at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia.
The moment, shared in a video by his daughter Ashley Biden, showed the president smiling and applauded by medical staff after finishing several weeks of therapy.
According to his doctors, the treatment targeted an aggressive but localized form of prostate cancer discovered earlier this year. They described his response as positive and said Biden tolerated the sessions well, with no major complications reported.
While his medical team will continue to monitor his condition, officials emphasized that the prognosis remains favorable.
The ceremony, a familiar ritual for cancer survivors, carried symbolic weight for the 82-year-old president, who has spoken publicly about perseverance and faith through illness. His recovery is expected to continue with routine evaluations, and aides say he remains “in good spirits” and fully engaged in his presidential duties.
